We hope to be able to hold an Autumn Show on 4th September, although there may need to be practical changes to maintain a measure of social distancing. CGC Autumn Show 2021 Schedule, CGC Entry Form Autumn 2021, and CGC Autumn Show Recipes 2021 are now available.
The fuchsia class may have to be cancelled to slow down the spread of fuchsia gall mite, as advised by the RHS.
Our judges have produced some guidance notes on dahlia types, quiches and preserves, and photographs, CGC Guidance Notes Autumn 2021

The Club has recently returned from a highly successful tour of South Wales under the excellent leadership of Tony Russell.  Of particular note were four splendid private gardens , where we were shown around by the owners.  A report is to follow but meanwhile there are some photographs on the tour page.

We are also hopeful that a small number of self-drive garden visits can be arranged for the summer and autumn.  Further information will be available in due course.

AGM 2021

Our AGM on 1st March was well attended, by an estimated 50 people.  There was first an illustrated talk by the Chairman on recent club activities.  This was then followed by the usual AGM business. Here is a PDF version of the talk: 2021-03-01-CumnorGardeningClubinPictures

Travel Editions have rearranged this for the week beginning 21st June 2021, in the hope that restrictions will be lifted by then.  There may be a small number of places available.

Club members have in the past received discounts at various local garden centres and nurseries, which we hope will continue: Yarnton Home and Garden, Freeland Nurseries and Burford Garden Centre.  Following a talk by the owner, we have also been offered membership of Preston Bissett Nurseries.  Yarnton now offer free Yarnton in the Garden events.
