Crockmore House Visit
On Monday 11 September, 21 of us went on a self-drive visit to Crockmore House, set in beautiful landscape near Henley. This is a stunning garden in the new style, designed around the year 2000 by Christopher Bradley-Hole in collaboration with the owner Julia Kirkham.
As the photos show, the garden is all grasses and perennials, purples and burgundy reds, controlled and yet exuberant, waving in the breeze and glinting in the sunshine.
Julia took us round. She is now a landscape gardener in her own right and was immensely knowledgeable, and willing to answer our numerous questions. Julia also arranged an excellent tea at the end.
